Job Description:
North Borneo is a land of much variety. This unreached people group has very little access to the Gospel. Your main focus will be teaching ESL in the larger city. Building opportunities to share the Gospel with those with a desire to learn English. You have something they WANT: English. You also have something they NEED: Jesus. Boldness, wisdom, and sensitivity to the Spirit will be needed as you share your faith. Your first stop will be a joint orientation with other Nehemiah Teams. Learning the skills needed to carry out your assignment as well as team building will fill these first few days. Your team will then travel to your area of assignment. Following your summer of ministry you will return for a joint debrief, sharing all God has done over the summer.

Cultural Information:
Team will be expected to conform to many of the cultural expectations of the people they re ministering among. This will mean things like wearing long pants instead of shorts, deinking and eating what is offerred, staying in their houses, using their toilets, and doing whatever it takes to win an opportunity to share the Gospel with the people.

Geographic Information:
The country has awe inspiring mountains, beaches, islands, and tropical jungles. The villages are primarily coastal. The people are very friendly and hospitable especially toward foreigners. The team will encounter many people who will speak English.

Available Housing:
Cheap but clean hostels or local homes.

Health Considerations:
It is hot and team will walk a lot. Team members need to be in good physical shape.

No asthma, diabetes or epilepsy unless it is under control.

Equipment to Bring:
Specific packing list will be provided online @ www.nehemiahteams.com. All team members will use an issued duffle bag/backpack for their checked piece of luggage.
