Job Description:
Students will hop island to island seeking out unreached people groups to determine their openness to the Gospel. We need help doing surveys of surrounding island villages to examine the various tribes and languages for our local churches to minster more effectively. In addition, students will have the opportunity to conduct training sessions for local pastors and church leaders on topics such as discipleship, orality, and stewardship.

Cultural Information:
Uganda is a conservative country. Men: long pants, collared or casual short sleeve shirts for church services, no shorts. Women: only long dresses or skirts, no shorts, jeans/pants, tank-tops or revealing clothes.

Geographic Information:
Uganda is a continuously developing East Africa nation with a population of approximately 33,000,000. It is landlocked but has the second largest fresh water lake, and the source of the Nile River, providing hydroelectricity and a source of livelihood. The second largest city, Jinja, is where the team is and is easy to travel to. The ministry will be conducted on the islands of Lake Victoria.

Available Housing:
Housing will be arranged in Jinja and the team will have their own lodging. The team will have access to transportation and a kitchen to prepare daily meals.

Health Considerations:
Ministry in Africa is physically intense and care is inadequate and sometimes unavailable. Individuals with health concerns should seek medical advice. Rough roads, intense sun, heat, and lack of medical facilities are factors to be considered. Malaria prevention medicine is recommended.

Please note that if you have ongoing needs of medication management or counseling related to depression, anxiety, PTSD, or sexual abuse, these resources are generally unavailable and you should consider applying at a later time.

Equipment to Bring:
Items to bring with you include: Bibles, Sunscreen lotion, bug-spray, raincoat/umbrella, light jacket, flashlight, comfortable walking/tennis shoes.
