We desire 12 summer staff (6 men, 6 women) who have some ministry experience and a heart for evangelism to assist leadership and participate in a Bible distribution and Evangelism project reaching NA Mus who are traveling through a European port.
This port city is known for its wind and hot summers (about 98F on a typical summer afternoon). The sun is strong but shade can be found at times to help with the heat. The public transportation system is extensive and can help cut down on walking, but its considered a pedestrian city. It is about 50% Mus from a NAfrican background, the remaining 50% are from Western European and backgrounds from around the world.
While out, men should wear long pants (jeans) and a button up shirt/polo. Women should wear long pants with a shirt that covers their bum or a skirt that extends to the ankle. Shirts with sleeves to the elbow are preferred. Women should avoid tight fitting fabric on top and around the waist and are encouraged to pull long hair back. Comfortable shoes should be worn by all! It is always best for men to talk with NA men and women to talk with NA women.
Hot days require that staff and volunteers are in generally good health. They need to be able to walk up to 4-5 miles per day on uneven surfaces (with stairs) and carry up to 20 lbs of materials to and from the distribution site if requested. Summer staff are given 1-2 days off per week.
