Job Description:
Water is a key ingredient to life, though clean, safe, and abundant drinking water is lacking in many villages in rural China. In order to provide clean drinking water, we are able to distribute water filters that last for years that are able to remove the harmful bacteria from water. In some villages, systems to deliver water from the water source are lacking, leading villagers to walk a long way to retrieve water. In these villages we seek to build the piping system to bring the water to the village and distribute filters to each home so they can drink safe, clean water. We work with local churches who have a burden to provide clean and living water, but lack the means to access the village and share the Good News in their homes. Through your donation we will supply them with filters and the training to go into villages to distribute the filters and lay water pipes if necessary. This will allow the local church to have a long-term impact in rural communities throughout this region.

Cultural Information:
While the eastern part of China is developing, millions of people in rural southwest China still live in poverty. Animism, the belief that spirits control everything, is the most prevalent belief system. When children get sick from drinking polluted water or just the common cold, parents will take their children to the local shaman to appease the spirits in hopes their child will recover. There are over 200 different people groups who live in this region, most who have no access to the Gospel.

Geographic Information:
There are more than 45 million people who live in rural villages in mountains of southwest China. Many villages are very remote and hard to get to by vehicles.
